Three Things Every Future Senior Should Know...

1.  You do have an option! 

Although the school requires that you go to a designated studio to be in the year book (for most of you that are in Hamilton, Boone or northern Marion County that is probably Prestige), you do have the right to select a professional portrait artist for your personal portraits. Imagine the personal attention you may get at a studio that has to do 2000+ seniors in one summer.  It's not going to be there folks!  They can't physically give you personal attention if they have to get that many seniors through before the first of November.

The required studio offers a basic yearbook session to be in the yearbook  - usually the fee is between $10-$20 and that guarantees that you will be in the yearbook. 

You can then choose to go to a studio that will give you personal attention and personal portraits for the gifts to family and friends. 


At Wyant Photography you will receive custom portrait time - not shared or rushed time.  There are a variety of options of sessions at Wyant Photography for your senior portraits:

* Safari sessions - your choice of the Indiana Dunes, Indianapolis Canal or Springmill State Park.

* The Ami Session or Country Harmony basic -  30 minute sessions at our gallery location or Country Harmony location.

* Country Harmony Standard - a one hour session at our Country Harmony location.  To see some of the settings at this location visit the gallery below.

* Country Harmony Supreme - 1.5 hours at Country Harmony location

* The Deluxe - a two hour session at our Country Harmony location (featured in the gallery below) or a location of your choice - your home, summer lake cottage any place special to you.

* The Ultimate - a four hour session at a location of your choice and Country  Harmony.

*  Friends Session is a two to three hour session with 2-4 friends, each      photographed individually and as a group together at the Country Harmony location.

2.  Schedule early and the right time of the day.

The best savings are during the early summer months.  If you are in a sport or marching band you will want to make sure to plan early.  If you wait until the end of the season it could be too cold or all the leaves could be gone for outside portraits.

Don't Schedule your appointment during the hot time of the day if you want outside photographs.

Many of the photography studios who don't understand quality light will schedule senior portraits any time of the day.  You need to understand that you should
avoid the appointment time between 11:00 and 3:00because that is when the sun is the brightest.  What happens with bright sun?  Your eyes are squinty, the background is too bright and distracting, you could get sun splotches on your clothes or even your face and it could be too hot meaning that you could be shiny and uncomfortable.  Ask for a session time between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m. in the summer.  Don't worry with us now on daylight savings the sun doesn't set in the summer until about 10:00 p.m.

3.  Discuss the options of the session and locations. 

Consider locations that are important to you or your family for a more personal look.  The portraits can be done at our portrait park, your home, your summer cabin, one of our Safari locations, any where that you are interested in going.  Once a decision has been made, express to the photographer what you like about the scene:  the flowers,  the rustic look, a certain prop or background. 



 We have some special location sessions available this year, we call them our Safari Sessions:
               
July 9 and 10th we will be at Springmill State Park, beautiful gardens and pioneer atmosphere.

June 27-30th special portraits at the Canal, downtown Indianapolis, for those who love city scapes.
                              
August 6 and 7th beach scenes at Michigan City, Indiana Dunes park, great for the beach lovers, without having to go to Florida.

To make the safari session REALLY FUN, ask two or three of your friends to also schedule sessions, all come together (a little road trip) make a weekend of it.  We will do everyone's individual portraits and then some group photos of everyone together.  Ask the fun mom to come with you to do the driving so you guys can just relax and enjoy the time together.

Our Safari Sessions have no session fee and the package starts at just $300 per 30 minute time session that is requested.
